THE SCRIPTURE WHICH BUDDHA EXPOUNDED ON THE INFINITE

Like this I have heard. At one time the Buddha
stayed at Anathapindada Garden, in the Jeta grove in the country of Shravasti , with a large congregation of Bhiksus (monks) together with 1,250 persons. All these were great Arhats, well versed in intellectual endeavors and well known. (They are) Elder Shariputra, Great Maudgalyayana, Great Kasyapa, Great Katyayana, Great Kausthila, Reveta, Suddhipanthaka, Nanda, Ananda, Rahula, Gavampati, Pindola Bharadvaja, Kalodayin, Great Kapphina, Vakkula, Aniruddha, and like these, etc. various great disciples; and also various Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas (who are) Manjusri, Dharma Prince, Ajita Bodhisattva, Gandhahastin Bodhisattva, Nityodyukta Bodhisattva, and like these, etc., various great Bodhisattvas; along with (them) the Shakra, the Lord of the Devas, etc., the congregation of innumerable various heavenly beings were together.
At that time the Buddha addressed
