that Buddha-land, the three evil realms exist.  Shariputra, in that Buddha-land, moreover, there is not even the name of the three evil paths, so how the real thing could exist. Having been transformed, all these various birds are Amida Buddha’s desire to spread the Dharma extensively.

“Shariputra, in that Buddha country the wind
gently blows to move various jewel—tree avenues, and
also jewel nets, creating a gently, serene sound. For
example, a hundred thousand kinds of music is produced
simultaneously. Whoever listens to this sound will
all, naturally, raise their mind to reflect on the
Buddha, to reflect on the Dharma, and to reflect on
the Sangha. Shariputra, this Buddha country is
accomplished with these virtues and splendid
decorations.

“Shariputra, what do you think? What is the
reason that the Buddha was named ‘Amida’? Shariputra,
that Buddha has infinite light shining every place in
the ten directions with no obstruction. Because of
this it is named as Amida or Infinite. Also,
Shariputra, that Buddha’s life and (the lives of)
those living beings are measureless, limitless, and of
innumerable Kalpas. Therefore, he is named Amida or
Infinite.

Shariputra, it has been ten kalpas since Amida
