Save the date: Women in Buddhism Conference

The third annual Women in Buddhism conference will be held at the temple on Saturday, September 20, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 3: 30. p.m.

Presenters are:

Rev. Midori Kondo, Associate Minister at Honpa Hongwanji, Hilo Betsuin and Resident Minister of Lihue Hongwanji Mission, ret.;

Sierra Lee-Brenner, licensed mental health counselor and board certified art therapist who will introduce creating mandalas as a contemplative expression related to Buddhism, mindfulness, and self-acceptance; and

Carol O’Dowd, resident Minister, Longmont Buddhist Temple.

Bishop Umezu visits Oct. 4-6

Bishop Kodo Umezu will conduct a Japanese workshop on Friday, Oct. 4, from 2 to 5 p.m., an English language workshop on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., be guest speaker at the regular service on Sunday, Oct. 6, and hold an affirmation service at 11:30 a.m. the same day, in which he gives members who have applied in advance a Buddhist name.
