Ōjōraisange

Ōjōraisange, or “Hymns of Birth in the Pure Land,” is a set of liturgical chants written by the Chinese Pure Land master Shan-tao (613-681). There are actually six separate sections meant to be chanted at the “six times” of the daily monastic schedule. Shoya is the chant for early evening, or the “first watch of the night”.
