On April 7th, the Seattle Betsuin will be hosting its annual Hanamatsuri service and luncheon. “Hanamatsuri” means flower festival, which is part of our symbolic celebration of the birth of Amida Buddha.
This is a great opportunity to welcome back old members, bring in new faces and to invite friends and family to attend a beautiful service. Please consider inviting someone who may be interested in learning more about our sect of Buddhism this weekend
Since the March session on Shoshinge went so well (and we didn’t get very far into the text), we have decided to continue on with our Shoshinge discussion for our April 6th Book Study Group meeting.
Looking ahead, the May meeting will be cancelled as Rev. Dr. Haneda will be lecturing at the Betsuin on the first weekend of May.
On Saturday, June 1st we will be discussing “Leaves of my Heart” by Lady Takeko Kujo which is available at the BCA bookstore.
Meetings take place in the Memorial Hall Chapel Feel free to bring a sack lunch and stay afterwards for discussion. This is a free program hosted by the Seattle Betsuin. Feel free to come out and share your thoughts.
